Amber started her legal career working as a family law legal assistant for attorney lawrence downing in 2001.  Mr. Lawrence Downing was a highly respected family law attorney with over thirty years of experience.  Motivated by the work done by Mr. Lawrence Downing and the other attorneys at his firm, Amber went on to attend law school at Hamline University School of Law.  During law school, Amber continued her work in Family Law as a Legal Assistant with another law firm in Rochester.  Amber also worked on a project with a highly regarded criminal defense attorney in Minneapolis..

Upon graduating from Hamline University School of Law in 2006, Amber began serving as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Joseph Wieners in Olmsted County, Third Judicial District.  While clerking for Judge Wieners, Amber had the privilege of working with all of the other Olmsted County Judges.  She gained invaluable insight, experience, and advice from these experienced and highly respected judges which she continues to utilize in her own practice today.  During her clerkship, Amber had the opportunity to lead and facilitate Conciliation Court settlement conferences which allowed her to work with unrepresented parties.  Amber was very successful at helping parties settle their disputes without having to appear before a judge.

Upon the conclusion of her judicial clerkship, Amber returned to work with Mr. Lawrence Downing as a family law attorney.  When Mr. Downing retired in the spring of 2010, Amber took over ownership of the law office with Attorney Steven Dittrich. 

Amber is married and lives in Rochester with her husband, Ryan, and their two children.
